For up-to-date info like events, closings, new animals, success stories please LIKE Manchester Animal Shelter on Facebook! My name is Blu. I'm a super handsome, 6 year young, gray kitty, looking for my forever home. I was having a hard time getting used to the hustle and bustle of everyday life here at the shelter, so I was given the chabce to spend some time in the home of one of our foster families. I am there right now as I speak. I like to cuddle with my foster mom on her comfy bed. However, I am a little shy and I sometimes get a little scared. so an owner who can reassure me is what I would love to have. A quiet, adult, cat savvy home is best for me. I am looking for a wonderful adult family that will give me the time, patience, understanding and love I need to settle into my new home. A home without small children or dogs please; they frighten me. Older, respectful children would be ok with me, though. I will need to have my very own room at first so I can get used to my new family and home, as I tend to hide when frightened. However, I promise to work on this with my new family. Do you have the perfect home for me? If you would like to meet me, just give the shelter a call at 603-628-3544 and they will be happy to arrange a meetup between you and me. I am so looking forward to going home soon. Love, Blu xoxoThe adoption fee for adult cats includes the following: spay or neuter and procedure; 1 year Rabies vaccination; distemper vaccination, microchip; and combo test of FIV (feline AIDS) and FeLV (feline leukemia). Other medical care provided might include treatments for fleas, ear mites, dental work or infections or other medical conditions. Let me tell you a little about myself my name is Hanzel (I also respond to the name Handsome BOL) and I’m a 8 year old sophisticated Pitbull. Wait a minute I know what you are thinking and no I’m not a lazy old dog. Actually I’m a very energetic, active, happy go lucky, smart, beaming pup who would love for you to take the time to get to know me.Ok no I’m not a puppy anymore but older pups have a lot of benefits that you may not have considered. For instance, I’m housebroken, crate trained and have some of my basic education under my fur. I’m very fluent in sit, paw and very willing to learn more. I don’t beg, ok maybe I do a little but I’m not rude and won’t steal your food. If I’m patient enough it usually pays off with being rewarded with one of my own treats. I’m very attentive and willing to attempt most anything when I’m bribed with cookies. I’m well past my chewing stage so your furniture is safe but please remember to give me my own toys that are acceptable to chew on.I’m an avid believer that in order to stay happy and healthy one must be diligent in maintaining a regular exercise routine. I enjoy going for walks, trail seeking, playing in the yard and running around like a nut. My leash skills are not horrible but I can admit when something needs improving. I enjoy playing with toys and can entertain myself if need be. I love to entertain my audience and will be the first pup to let my fur down. At the end of the day after play sessions, exercise and fun it’s time to relax cuddled up to you. We can do whatever you want as long as I’m with you. Some other things you should know, unfortunately I have absolutely no social skills, manners or fondness when it comes to any of my furry friends. Some pups rub me the wrong way and I can be bratty when passing them by (please make sure I’m leashed at all times when out in public). I need someone who will take the time to teach me how to ignore my surroundings and concentrate my focus on you. Another thing is I don’t understand kids and they tend to make me nervous so a home where I can be your one and only kid is necessary. I have a heart of gold and wear my emotions on my paws. I’m looking for someone who will make the effort, be dedicated and work with me on some of my short comings. No one is perfect nor do I claim to be but I’m very loyal and loving. If I extend my paw will you extend your hand? I hope so because if you give me a chance I promise to make you proud.Come down to the shelter for a visit and say hi. I’m waiting to meet the first person I will see when I wake up and the last person I will fall asleep next to. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Come meet Hanzel at the shelter! She did live with a few other cats in the past, but due to her timid nature, we think she would do best is a quiet home, possibly with one or two adults in the family. Luna is an 11 year old beauty, but she can stand to lose a pound or two She is very colorful and soft and loves to be pet around her ears! If you are interested in this sweet girl, please stop by the shelter to meet her. It’s been over a year that Tank has been in our care and the hardest thing for us to understand is why people aren’t knocking down our doors to inquire about this sweet boy. We take in so many walks of life. All with different stories, interests, needs, requirements and certainly personalities. We have residents who get along with just about everyone human and furry alike. Those who prefer to live with one furry kind but not the other. Some who hope for a quiet home without the presence youngsters running around. There are those whose sole desire is to be your one and only furry love. And of course there are the residents who want your utter devotion to themselves. In Tank’s case he has no desire to share your attention with another furry friend. He wants you all to himself. Being an 8 year old Pitbull he has earned that right. However he is willing to embraces the companionship of a slightly older human sibling.Tank has a colorful vocabulary that will surely impress you. Being the scholar he is, he has his basic obedience well under his fur. Things like sit, paw, other paw and back up are second nature to this pup. Hoping to find someone as dedicated to furthering his education as he is. Wanna go for a walk? Tank will happily retrieve his leash and he’s ready to go! While out for a stroll his skills are very well polished when wearing a gentle lead but with the distraction of another pup in sight his focus will stray. Redirect his attention back to you with your sweet voice or some tasty treats and go about your merry way.Pawloose and fancy free this pup has it going on. He has an inquisitive personality and a handsome appearance. Easily entertained by his favorite toy, excited by your participation and thrilled just to spend time with you. Retrieving is second nature, bringing it back to you is assumed but pretending to keep his prize all to himself is his silly demeanor shining through. One thing that truly makes this boy happy is rolling around on his back like a nut. To witness this you can’t help but chuckle! Nothing short of a loyal companion, your faithful shadow and a loving friend.Very quiet and well-mannered at home. Tank really enjoys his pup television. Never heard of pup television? It’s when you find your favorite spot, watch out the window and daydream of anything dear to your heart. At the end of the day quiet time, curled up next to you is required. First he will sit on your side, then he will put a paw on you to make sure you are close and then his sleepy head will lay in your lap to make sure you don’t go anywhere.Tank is one of a kind knowing exactly how to comfort your soul and awaken your spirit. He wears his heart securely attached to his paw. His affection flows freely, his love abundant. One look at those big brown eyes and I assure you, life will never be the same. Searching for a home with complete and utter Zen. Somewhere where he has a balanced life. Exercise is important but so is resting his head at the end of the day. Do you have room in your life for a pup as wonderful as Tank? Can you give him the future he longs for? Fill out an application and maybe you can score a chance to get to know each other. Be impressed with his talented skills, silly personality and sweet demeanor. He has so much to offer someone special if just given the chance.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Tank is residing in one of our wonderful foster homes. If you are interested in him please stop by the shelter and fill out an adoption application. We do not have online or emailed applications. Hello world! My name is Tanner and I want to be your new best friend.A note from Tanner's foster owners:Tanner is truly a wonderful dog that has filled our home with joy and laughs. Tanner has grown immensely while staying with us and continues to makes strides everyday to better himself as a dog. Tanner has a very playful personality and loves to romp with toys and fetch frisbees all day! He is very driven to please his owners, which has allowed us to use 'play' as a great reward to help Tanner develop his good behaviors. Tanner is an excellent walker and only needs occasional reminders to stay right at your side. Tanner still gets excited when he sees new dogs and people, but has learned new calming behaviors that have helped him contain his excitement and relax. The greatest thing about Tanner is that he really just wants to be loved and have a forever family of his own. He loves snuggling and napping on the couch when he's allowed, tagging along on any adventure, and learning new tricks. Tanner is a great dog that needs someone to care for him and help him continue to fill his potential. As foster owners we would love to discuss Tanner with anyone who is interested or has questions about him.Adoption hours: Saturday: 10-4 Sunday: 12-3 Monday and Friday: 12-4 Tuesday and Thursday: 12-4 and 6-8pmAdoption fee is based on age: Dogs 7 months to 7 years are $275 **They are spayed and neutered, age appropriate vaccines, microchipped and heartworm tested. If you have questions you can call our office at 603.628.3544. We have some special kittens here at the shelter that want to meet you. Say hello to Mackie, Edmund, Christa, Marco and Tweed. These kittens are 5-6 months old and are looking for their forever homes. Here's the rundown:Mackie is a gray 6 month old gray and white tiger male Tweed is a brown tiger 6 month old female Edmund is a black with white 6 month old male Christa is a brown tiger with white 6 month old female Marco is a white and tiger 6 month old maleThe story with these babies is that they're all very shy, as they didn't get much love when they were first born. They tend to hide around people, and all this being said, they are not the cuddly little kitten that most people search for. These kits would need someone who is willing to work with them, giving them the time, patience and love to help them grow into some really awesome cats. Do you have a friendly cat and are you cat-savvy enough and looking for a challenge that will change your life? Then come into the shelter and ask to meet one of these kittens.
