Holly #23 is around 6 years old and weighs 62 lbs. She is a medium activity level and gets along well with other dogs. Holly was in a local high kill shelter and rescued when no one came to claim her. If given the opportunity she will chase a car. We think she has run free for a while in her lifetime. If you are interested in Holly please fill out an application.September 17, 2017 update from Holly's Foster Mom: Holly is crate trained, but does not need to be crated, she is completely trustworthy in the house. She sleeps all night. She has perfect house manners, she doesn't counter surf or chew or take anything she shouldn't have. She loves to go for rides and is great in the car. She also LOVES to go on walks/hikes. She is good on the leash, but when she sees a deer or squirrel, I have to hold on tight. She is good with kids and enjoys playing with my daughter's 5 year old son. She is great with other dogs of all sizes. Some of these pictures were taken at a dog pool that I took her to. Holly did swim, but she was much more interested in playing with my daughter's two Labs. I hope that the family who adopts her either have another dog or will give her plenty of opportunities to play with other dogs. For additional information about Holly #23 please email Marla Cox at mclabs4rescue@gmail.com.Holly #23 is being fostered in New England.IMPORTANT INFORMATION: We receive many questions about our adoption process from potential adopters, most of which can be answered by viewing our "Adopt a Lab" page on our full service website, http://labs4rescue.dog/. Meet Louise #6, an 8-month-old black lab that got caught in the midst of Hurricane Harvey. She was at the shelter on Thursday and needed to be out by 5 pm or she would be euthanized. Luckily we were able to get her out in time and into her foster home. This sweet precious lab is a pleasure to foster. She loves to snuggle and play (loves her toys). She is crate trained and potty trained, but needs reinforcement in her training. She knows to sit for treats but would not be great in a home with food aggressive dogs as she is very polite and patient. She is significantly underweight and the days of starving are over. She eats every meal as if it is her last meal and wants to eat the other dog’s food. She gets along with other dogs and even enjoys playing at daycare. She was very scared when the foster first got her but has quickly warmed up in her foster home. Please open your heart to this beautiful lab and you won’t regret it. Meet Lil Luke #31! Luke is an approximately 2-3 year old, petite 30 lb, male, chocolate lab mix. Luke is fully grown so the perfect size for an apartment, smaller home or family looking for a pocket sized Lab! Luke is a gentleman, a warrior and a work in progress all rolled in to one hidden gem of a package. This poor guy was rescued out of an abusive hoarding situation which left some emotional scarring that needs to be patiently and gently addressed. He is making great strides and is doing much better since being with his foster family. He enjoys romps in the yard with his foster fur sisters and loves to end the day cuddled with foster mom on the couch doing some Netflixing. Kisses are rare but they are coming more often, as he still is playing hard to get. Physically he is healthy and eats well. Luke is learning to walk with his leash but starts out a little nervous. He is housebroken and learning commands. He loves his toys and chewy bones. I believe Luke would thrive best with no small human children. He would adore a family with other young dogs. This precious lab is Nash #8. Nash is approximately 4 years old and weighs 60lbs. Nash was very thin when he came into the system, but has now started gaining weight and looks much better. Still, he has some weight left to gain and should be 70+ lbs when healthy. Nash had a rough beginning, but has come out of it very appreciative and happy for anything he receives. His tail wags constantly and he will do anything for a food reward. Nash already sits on command and will give you his paw to shake, but does politely request payment in the form of a treat. He is crate trained, leash trained, and ready to become a part of a loving family and home. If you can give Nash the life he has waited for, please contact his adoption coordinator. For additional information about Nash #8 please email Deb Cook Keavy at deb.cook.keavy@labs4rescue.org.IMPORTANT INFORMATION: We receive many questions about our adoption process from potential adopters, most of which can be answered by viewing our "Adopt a Lab" page on our full service website, http://labs4rescue.dog/. Polly #14 is a sweet older girl who was rescued from the dreaded list at a high kill shelter. Polly is estimated to be 8-10 years old. She's a small -- petite girl weighing in at just 35-40 lbs. She's calm and loves to lounge around. She's great with other animals. We haven't had her around small children yet but she's so mellow we really don't see that being a issue. She just goes with the flow. She walks on a leash well and was great in the car. Not sure she was crated much before because she's not the biggest fan of going in but will go when told and doesn't make a peep. She's been started on house training and has made great progress. Please ask us all about this cutie! For additional information about Polly #14 please email Shana Luzusky at shana2576@gmail.com.IMPORTANT INFORMATION: We receive many questions about our adoption process from potential adopters, most of which can be answered by viewing our "Adopt a Lab" page on our full service website, http://labs4rescue.dog/. Meet Tiger Lily! This sweet girl was being surrendered to a local high kill shelter when one of our awesome volunteers stepped in and was able to get her into a foster home. This sweet girl is a precious pocket lab mix. She's 4 years old and only 41 lbs. Lily is great with other dogs and cats. She needs slower introductions and can be a bit mouthy at first but not aggressive. With a few corrections this girl settled into her new pack in her foster home quickly last night. She loves toys. She is great on a leash and rides well in the car. She's also house and crate trained. Lily does well with children too. This sweet little girl is Tory #3! Tory is a beautiful, approximately 2-year-old, female, chocolate lab mix weighing 42lbs. Tory is a very affectionate girl with a silly sense of humor! She loves to play with her toys and really enjoys training. Tory is very smart and has already mastered Sit, Down, Come, Give Paw, Stay/Wait and is used to sitting before any food is served and before getting out of her crate. Since she is a clever little thing, she would benefit from a family that would continue her training and stimulate her mind. Her favorite things are belly rubs, being brushed, figuring out how to get her treats from the Kong toys and going for car rides. Tory also enjoys any raw fresh vegetable offered as well as canned pumpkin and cooked sweet potatoes. She walks well on leash most of the time but will pull at cars and other dogs so needs a family that will work with her on those behaviors as well as socialization. Tory would be best in a home with either older or no children. She is completely housebroken and crate trained and can be trusted to be left home alone. Tory is a great girl who has the potential to be awesome with continued training. Please contact us if you would like Tory to be your new best friend! For additional information about Tory #3 please email Deb Cook Keavy at deb.cook.keavy@labs4rescue.org.Tory #3 is being fostered in Connecticut.IMPORTANT INFORMATION: We receive many questions about our adoption process from potential adopters, most of which can be answered by viewing our "Adopt a Lab" page on our full service website, http://labs4rescue.dog/.
