On March 7th, 2025, severe high winds devastated the Animal Rescue Network of New England (ARNNE) dog shelter in Pelham, New Hampshire. Massive trees and branches crashed into our kennel facility, forcing us to evacuate all our dogs to emergency housing. While we’re grateful that every single dog is safe, our shelter sustained significant structural damage that requires immediate attention and costly repairs.

The Challenge We Face
The storm left us with:
- Major roof damage requiring complete replacement
- Structural damage from fallen trees and heavy branches
- Expensive emergency cleanup and professional tree removal
- Ongoing costs for temporary dog boarding during repairs
- Additional safety concerns from damaged pine trees that pose future risks

We’re currently operating with only our two front kennels deemed safe for temporary use, while we wait for insurance adjusters and work through the complex rebuilding process.
Our Community Response
The outpouring of support has been incredible. The Pelham Police Department and Animal Control Division provided immediate emergency assistance, while The Barking Dog in Derry stepped up to house our displaced pups with exceptional care and flexibility. Our volunteers have rallied, and our community has shown what it means to come together in crisis.
How Your Donation Helps
Every dollar donated goes directly toward:
- Emergency repairs to get our shelter fully operational
- Roof replacement and structural restoration
- Professional tree removal and site safety improvements
- Temporary boarding costs while repairs are completed
- Future-proofing our facility against similar storm damage
Why ARNNE Matters
The Animal Rescue Network of New England has been a lifeline for countless dogs in need, providing shelter, medical care, and loving foster placement throughout our region. Our dogs don’t stop needing care because of a storm – and neither do we stop our mission of rescue and rehabilitation.
We Will Rebuild Stronger
With insurance support and community donations, we’re committed to not just rebuilding, but improving our facility. Some of the downed pine trees will be repurposed into lumber for reconstruction, turning disaster into opportunity wherever possible.
Your support means everything to us and the dogs who depend on ARNNE for their second chance at life.
All donations are gratefully accepted and will be used exclusively for kennel rebuild and recovery efforts. Thank you for helping us get back on our paws.
Donate today and be part of rebuilding hope for New England’s rescue dogs.
